What a wonderful itinerary! The bike ride from the mountains of Belluno to the Venice Lagoon is a unique experience, passing through historic villages and enchanting landscapes, all the way to the sea. Here is an idea of the route and the main stages:
Start in Belluno, a charming mountain town nestled in the Dolomites. Following the bike path along the Piave River, you’ll reach Feltre, a small town with a medieval old town full of charm and history.
The next stop will take you to Bassano del Grappa. The town is famous for its historic wooden bridge, designed by Andrea Palladio, and for the local grappa. Here you can make a stop and enjoy the view of the Brenta River.
Continue to Cittadella, famous for its perfectly preserved and fully walkable medieval walls. It is one of the most beautiful walled cities in Italy and an unmissable stop. From Cittadella, pedal toward Montagnana, another medieval jewel. Its walls are among the best preserved in Europe, and the old town is full of historic buildings and small restaurants where you can enjoy local specialties.
Continue south, leaving the hinterland to approach the lagoon. Chioggia is a charming town and is often called “little Venice” for its canals and characteristic colorful houses. Here you can take a break and enjoy some fresh fish.
From the lagoon of Chioggia you head north, skirting the sea to Jesolo, through the beautiful islands of Pellestrina and Lido, to arrive at the end of the journey in Treviso.
If you want to end on a high note, you can make a final stop in Venice. A spectacular arrival to end the trip.
This trip combines nature, culture and history, moving from mountainous and hilly landscapes to lagoon atmospheres. It is the perfect itinerary for those who love to explore the different faces of Veneto!
You will be able to choose between routes, bicycle touring, gravel, road.
Three options to go through these emotions with the mode you like best.
